Today, I’m starting my blog—and my journal as well. This blog will focus on my educational and career journey. I’ll begin by sharing where I currently stand. The journal will be more personal. I’m not sure yet if I’ll make that public, but we’ll see.
As for my career, I’m currently in school for software development. I originally started with cybersecurity, but in my opinion, it’s a field that requires a solid foundation before diving in. Still, it opened the door to everything that’s out there—the possibilities really grabbed my attention.
That’s when I dove into programming. I’ve always liked to code, and I’ve got a knack for home automation, such as Tasker and SharpTools. That interest pulled me deeper into programming, and eventually into networking as well. And just like that, I was back to security, with a clearer understanding this time.
At this point, I’m heading into the final year of my associate degree in software development. It’s been an interesting ride. I’ve learned some Java, Linux, a bit of HTML and web design, and a few other things—like troubleshooting and scripting—along the way. But there’s always more to learn.
So, my plan is to start diving deeper into networking and programming on my own—get some certifications, sharpen my skills, and become more well-rounded. But first, I’ve got to get financially stable.
Even now, yes, I want to do software development—but I also want to work in networking. Programming brings joy and opens up endless possibilities, but networking is knowing how everything works. It shows you what’s possible behind the scenes and helps you protect yourself.
We’ll see where this journey takes me.
