I started a new project today—I signed up for an AWS account and set up a virtual machine (VM) to run OpenVPN. I also added my tablet as one of the connected devices.
It might surprise some people to know that you can host your own VPN in the cloud for free, at least for the first year, and for up to two devices. It’s a really useful option, especially based on how you configure the VPN on your devices.
I chose to set it up on my tablet because I watch a lot of international content, and sometimes the U.S. blocks access to certain sites, even if they’re perfectly fine. Having my own VPN makes it easier to access that content without restrictions.
That’s it for now—excited to see what I’ll learn next.
